On 28th April 2026, Meezan Bank President Syed Amir Ali, along with the senior leadership team including the COO, Group Heads, and other officials, visited Dow University of Health Sciences at its Ojha Campus in Karachi.

The delegation was warmly received by Director Finance Mr. Zain Ul Abdin Shah. During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nazli Hossain, shared the inspiring journey and development of DUHS, highlighting its significant contributions to Sindh and Pakistan’s healthcare sector. Discussions also focused on future collaboration opportunities, particularly supporting financially vulnerable patients and promoting sustainable healthcare initiatives.

As a strong gesture of commitment to social responsibility, Syed Amir Ali presented a cheque of Rs. 5 million to DUHS. This contribution reflects Meezan Bank’s dedication to supporting institutions that serve humanity.

The delegation later visited the Dow Cancer Care Centre, where they were briefed on advanced clinical services and DUHS’s efforts to provide life-saving treatments, especially for underprivileged patients. Important discussions also addressed challenges faced by public healthcare institutions, including treatment discontinuation due to financial constraints, and the vision of establishing a recurring healthcare support fund to ensure continuity of care.

Syed Amir Ali appreciated the remarkable progress of DUHS, praising its infrastructure, patient care services, and long-term vision for ethical and sustainable healthcare financing.

The visit concluded on a highly positive note, marking an important step toward future collaboration focused on social responsibility, ethical fund management, and improving access to quality healthcare for all.
