Smoking is harmful for our health and environment, In this Ramadan lets get rid of this habit and create a smoke free environment for our next generations.

Dow University of Health Sciences have been playing its part to make Karachi a Smoke free city.

 

So lets join hands together and pledge to quit Smoking once and for all.

 

Smoking has a significant impact on a person’s health and can lead to numerous negative consequences. Some of the main impacts of smoking include:

 

Increased risk of lung cancer: Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer, and long-term smokers are at a much higher risk of developing the disease.

 

Respiratory problems: Smoking can cause respiratory problems such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema, which can lead to difficulty breathing and a decreased ability to perform physical activities.

 

Cardiovascular disease: Smoking can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, including heart attack, stroke, and peripheral artery disease.

 

Reduced immune function: Smoking can weaken the immune system, making it more difficult for the body to fight off infections and diseases.

 

Reduced fertility: Smoking can reduce fertility in both men and women and can also increase the risk of pregnancy complications.

 

Premature aging: Smoking can lead to premature aging of the skin and can cause wrinkles, age spots, and other skin problems.

 

Secondhand smoke: Exposure to secondhand smoke can also have negative health effects, including an increased risk of lung cancer and respiratory problems.

 

Overall, smoking is a significant risk factor for numerous health problems and can have a significant negative impact on a person’s quality of life. Quitting smoking can significantly improve a person’s health and reduce their risk of developing these negative consequences.
