Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), in collaboration with PASBAN, NED-UET, University of Karachi (UoK), PANS, IBRO, and NMCAH, successfully hosted the 12th Annual Neuroscience Conference (12ANC 2026) on 28–29 July 2026 under the theme “Integrative Approaches Towards Neuroscience and Mental Health.”

The conference commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Nazli Hossain, Vice Chancellor, DUHS, followed by remarks from Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Tariq Rafi, Chairman, Higher Education Commission (HEC), and Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Quraishy T.I.

The scientific program featured lectures by Prof. Dr. Adeel (Monash University), Prof. Dr. Syed Ather Enam, Prof. Dr. Arif Herekar, Prof. Dr. Iqbal Afridi, and Syeda Mehr Mustafa, covering topics including consciousness research, NeuroAI, the biopsychosocial model, spirituality, and mental well-being. Parallel sessions explored neurological disorders, emotional regulation, integrative healing, neuropsychology, nuclear imaging, neuromodulation, sleep deprivation, AI-assisted drug discovery, brain-computer interfaces, in silico drug screening, and integrated mental healthcare. The conference also featured oral and poster presentations by young researchers on topics including cPTSD, suicidal ideation among medical students, autism spectrum disorder, qEEG brain mapping, and neurological therapeutics.

A multidisciplinary panel discussion featuring Prof. Dr. Obaid Ali, Dr. Imran M. Yusuf, Dr. Muhammad Sarfaraz, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abul Hasan, and Prof. Dr. Arif Herekar highlighted future directions in neuroscience, mental health, and interdisciplinary research.

The conference concluded with acknowledgements to the organizing committee, with special appreciation extended to Prof. Dr. Nazli Hossain, Prof. Dr. Syed Ather Enam, Prof. Dr. M. Sameer Qureshi, Prof. Dr. Arif Herekar, Dr. Meha Fatima Aftab, Dr. Farina Hanif, Brig. Dr. Shoaib Ahmed, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abul Hasan, Prof. Dr. Sonia Siddiqui, Prof. Dr. Sadaf Ahmed, Ms. Shagufta Yasir, Ms. Sullha Sahar, Ms. Sana Ahmed, and Mr. Sohail Malik.

The conference recognized outstanding research with four Best Oral Presentation Awards of PKR 20,000 presented to Dr. Urooj Qureshi, Dua Joyyo, Dr. Muhammad Ahsan, and Kulsoom Syed, while three Best Oral Presentation Awards of PKR 10,000 were awarded to Saviya Kashif, Hasnain Rasool, and Yusra Iqbal.
